About Coleen’s Teaching

Coleen’s unique combination of educational training, professional work and experience in the field gives her an unparalleled perspective to pass on to her students.  Her strengths are her diverse style, attention to proper technique and her dedication to each student’s development.

Coleen’s teaching philosophy is centered in teaching a strong basic dance technique emphasizing proper alignment that will sustain and support the dancer as they move across different dance disciplines.  She encourages her students to have full body awareness, be conscious, to learn to think for themselves, and allows them the opportunity to find their individual expression and create their own unique style of movement.

Entertainers, students and dance teachers from all over the world have come to study with Coleen.  Her caring, inspirational and motivational style of teaching, allows her to train and mentor dancers, leading them to a fulfilling life in the dance world.  Her wide range of movement gives her dancers the edge in the competitive dance field.  She is proud to have her former students dance and teach professionally around the world. They have gone on to dance in Companies, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, Vegas shows, National tours, Industrials, Film/TV/Music Videos, and Cruise Ships; as well as teach at Studios and Dance Programs throughout the country; and continue their education at some of the countries top Dance Universities.
